Not Another F-ing Movie Quote Quiz [Jul. 17th, 2009|11:00 am]

ditzy_pole
It's Friday. Everyone appears to be sick, dying, sick of dying or dying to get sick. It's one of the aforementioned. I have been feeling a bit off-colour all week after one of our lovely patients coughed all over me. It's not Swine. It's exhaustion from having to listen to it at work 24/7.

And so, as I'm already stuck, I give you to fill the boredom a movie quiz. One with quotes of unbelievable harshness O_o

Chatting to [info]nils, after the last one I did, I shall do this one differently. I'm going to keep all comments screened and the person with most correct answers gets a prize. And probably those in second and third too. Feel free to pass it round, have as many guesses as you like, etc. I'll let it run for a week or so.

And so onto the quotes: )

And the bonus quote:
So, you and Cullen... I don't like it. He looks at you like you're something to eat.

I had ordered a Galileoscope a few months back and It finally arrived the other day.

Tonight I saw craters on the moon with my own eyes for the first time, ever. The only real problem is that the tripod I have really is not up to snuff for astronomical viewing. Just the act of tightening the various fasteners that hold the head of the tripod in place throws off it's aim too much. Never mind just casually touching it.

I had also attempted to view Jupiter but the adjustment needed was too fine for the support system I had.

So, onto the list of things to get once I'm working again is a better quality tripod.

But still, the Moon, awesome.

Does anyone know of any clothing swaps being organized for the near future? Or even where I would look to find this information? Everything on yelp and meetup.com was old.

Thanks!

Don'wannapack.

Also don'wannadealwithairportsandplanes.

I love going places. I just hate the process of *getting there*.

(It doesn't help that I am *still* at work trying to wrap up one last thing before I leave. Yay inefficiency and lack of someone to cover for me while I'm gone.)

Semi-permanent or Demi-permanent hair color [Jul. 16th, 2009|08:27 pm]

I am looking for green semi-permanent or demi-permanent hair color in Montreal. I have tried numerous Pharmaprix's and Jean Coutu's, but they don't have green. I'd prefer not Manic Panic, something of more salon quality, or Punky Colour as I have used them in the past.
Does anyone know where I can get this without having a license?
Thank you very very much.

Students - health care plans? (universityhealth) [Jul. 16th, 2009|06:40 pm]

[manderleys]
Hey everyone, I have a question regarding health care plans which is geared mostly towards current or past students at MA public schools (including the UMASS and state colleges).
I'm starting my sophomore year at an MA state college and because my school doesn't except my mother's insurance plan, I need to find a new one. After doing some research it looks like that the University Health plan (available to students at all umass/state colleges) is the best deal expense and coverage wise. I'm looking at the enrollment right now and it lists the available doctors, dentists, etc in my area (I live in the south shore of Boston when I'm not at school).

My questions...
1. Has anyone ever enrolled in this plan  before? Or known anyone who has? Any input on that is particularly appreciated.
2. If anyone has had any experiences with services at the following places I'd really appreciate it because I've never been to any of them before (my previous doctors/etc don't accept this health plan and I can't afford to go to them out of pocket)

Just wanted to let everyone know, that a new version of MemcacheD has been released. We will be rolling this out to the memcache nodes during the week of July 20th to 24th. This should have very little impact on the stability of the website; however users may see a slight increase in load times as the cache is re-populated with entries.

The software has been tested and verified to be working just fine with the application; so we perceive this to be a very minimal risk in regards to updating, and the stability of the website.

Thanks...

It seems this has been asked before, but I can’t find it in the memories; where can I get a VHS tape burned onto dvd? Thanks!

Edit: After a little more Googling, I found an ad on www.usedmontreal.com, with someone offering this service. They offered an email address, but no location. If anyone else is interested, leave a comment and I will let you know what/if they respond.

Jacques Cabaret [Jul. 16th, 2009|02:47 pm]

Okay, so I am planning a Bachelorette for my best friend and wanted to take the group to Jacques Cabaret.  Apparently, even with calling a month in advance there are no tables available to reserve.

A few questions:
- Anyone have any pull at Jacques?  I'd be forever at your mercy...
- Anyone know what the odds of getting 15-20 of us in on a Saturday night in August without a reserved table?

I've never been there so I don't know how much space or how many people they let in above the maximum.

Anyone else have any cleaver ideas for a Bachelorette party in Boston, in addition to the typical get drunk and go to bars?

You see, this best friend took me pole dancing at Gypsy Rose so I wanted to "get back" at her with something as naughty.

The date is Saturday, August 15th and it can't really change...
